Genshin Impact fans, get ready to dive into a thrilling card-based tabletop battle with Genius Invokation TCG!  Players use decks composed of character and action cards, with the ultimate goal of defeating all of their opponent's character cards to claim victory. Let’s explore the rules and gameplay mechanics to help you master the game!

Getting Started: Game Setup

1. Determine Who Goes First

Players begin by playing rock, paper, scissors. The winner decides who will go first. Players will then mark turn order with a coin.

2. Setting Up Character Cards

  • Each player selects 3 character cards and places them in the designated role card area.
  • A character counter is used to track each character’s health, character energy count, and elemental attachments.
  • The initial character energy and elemental status remain blank.

3. Deck Preparation

  • Players shuffle their action decks and place them in the deck area.
  • Each player draws 5 cards from their deck as their starting hand.
  • Players have one opportunity to replace any number of cards by reshuffling and redrawing the same number.
  • Players select a character card to start with by secretly choosing a value on a six-sided die, then reveal their choices simultaneously.

Game Components

  • Elemental Dice: Used to activate skills and abilities. There are 7 elemental types, along with a universal element.


  • Coins: Mark the first and second player and indicate combat roles.

③ Play Cards (Quick Action)

④ Elemental Resonance (Quick Action)

  • Players can discard a card to change one of their elemental dice to match their active character’s element.

⑤ Announce the end of their round (Combat Action)

  • Players may choose to end their turn.
  • The opponent continues acting until they also announce the end of their turn.
  • The first player to end their turn gets to start first in the next round.

 

Ending a Round

During the end of a round, players resolve the following in order:

  1. Effect Resolution: Effects from cards and statuses are resolved starting with the first player.
  2. Consume Elemental Dice: All unused dice are removed from play.
  3. Draw Phase: Each player draws 2 new cards from their deck.
  4. New Round Begins: The first player starts the next action phase.

Card Effect Priority

When multiple card effects activate at the same time, they are resolved in the following priority:

  1. The current player resolves their effects first.
  2. Effects resolve in the order of character cards → character equipment → statuses → faction battle statuses → summons → support cards.

Summoned creatures and support cards also follow the order they are played, from top to bottom.
